CREDENTIALS & ACADEMIC BACKGROUND
I am a Registered Psychologist in British Columbia (College of Health and Care Professionals of BC #2433) currently in private practice in the Okanagan.
I completed an Honours degree in Psychology at OUC-Kelowna in 2004 and subsequently completed a Doctorate of Psychology (PhD; 2008) and a Masters of Clinical Psychology (MPsychology; 2011) at the University of New South Wales (UNSW) in Sydney, Australia where I held clinical registration as a Psychologist since 2009.
I specialize in assessment and treatment of common mental health disorders, working exclusively with adult clients. I am part of the WorkSafeBC Provider Network and offer services to members of the RCMP, BCEHS, and Veterans Affairs clients.
I also have extensive experience in the development and delivery of CBT e-health interventions - which can form the digital building block to evidence-based care.
I previously held positions as a Clinical Research Fellow, Clinical Psychologist, and Research Director at the Clinical Research Unit for Anxiety and Depression (CRUfAD) at St. Vincent’s Hospital and the UNSW Faculty of Medicine in Sydney, Australia.
I later held a tenured appointment as Associate Professor of Clinical Psychology at Utrecht University in the Netherlands and a conjoint appointment as adjunct Associate Professor at UNSW in the Department of Psychology in Australia. I continue to contribute to initiatives to disseminate psychological findings to the broader community. I also serve on several editorial boards of scientific journals.
In addition to several international organizations, I am a member of the following professional bodies:
The Canadian Association of Cognitive Behavioural Therapies
Canadian Psychological Association
British Columbia Psychology Association
Dr Williams is currently only accepting assessment and client requests through direct referrals.
